A room for the meeting

What kind of different feelings do we have for a meeting? We may be nervous, excited, sad, engaged, and so on. Depending of the meeting.
A table with an edge of brush that you can caress and run your fingers thru. A room with different qualities that surrounds and take care of the peoples that enters. The different materials of wood and fabrics create a room with sound absorbing qualities. The high ceiling gives the space different nuances.

The people that make entrance into the room pass a blanket of bristles. What happens to us when we are affected by the room?

I have also worked with the colours. I have used matt and shiny surfaces. Different grades of materials lifts the room and gives it character. Depending on how the material is placed, it can have different meaning and purpose, and that's interesting.

Kitchen Interior for a villa in Djursholm

A home built in the theme of Alice in Wonderland. A house with a blue colour like the Concert Hall in Stockholm. Many angles and crannies in this house and a large terrace on the roof. Plants are meandering through the hollow spaces. The house is built largely in visible leca block where the holes are saved to make a firm impact. The floors in the rest of the house are in concrete.

I wanted the kitchen to feel lighter than the rest of the house and inviting with all the softer materials in wood. A place where you can be greeted by smell and colour. A room where the family meet and cook together with friends. I like to play with materials and to fool the eye, you think you see tiles but its wood treated with colours and lacquer.

Here you can see several illustrations and thoughts about how the kitchen might look like. An on-going project and a collaboration with the architect firm Byggfenomen.
